FBI Community Relations Executive Seminar Training (CREST) set for Feb. 29

Arkansas State University will host an FBI Community Relations Executive Seminar Training program with special agents of the U.S. Department of Justice's Federal Bureau of Investigation, on Friday, Feb. 29, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Carl. R. Reng Student Union Auditorium. The event is free, and the public is invited to attend. However, attendees should know that the event may not be videotaped or recorded.

Arkansas State University will host an FBI Community Relations Executive Seminar Training program with special agents of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Federal Bureau of Investigation, on Wednesday, Feb. 29, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Carl. R. Reng Student Union Auditorium. The event is free, and the public is invited to attend. However, attendees should know that the event may not be videotaped or recorded. Sponsors include ASU’s Department of Accounting, the College of Business, and the Regional Center for Disaster Preparedness Education within the College of Nursing and Health Professions.

Brent Cox, of the Regional Center for Disaster Preparedness Education, will give opening remarks at 12-12:10 p.m. From 12:10-12:20 p.m., a welcome and introductions will be given by Valerie Parlave, Special Agent in Charge, Little Rock Field Office, FBI. Special Agent Charles Kemp, also of the Little Rock Field Office of the bureau, will speak about terrorism from 12:30 p.m.-1:30 p.m. Participants will have a break from 1:30-1:40 p.m.

From 1:40 -2:40 p.m., Special Agent Phillip Spainhour, of the Little Rock Field Office, will address evidence response. A break will be offered from 2:40-2:50 p.m. Rodney Carmack, of the ASU College of Business, will give remarks from 2:50-3 p.m., and the event will conclude with a discussion of white collar crimes from 3-4 p.m. with Special Agent Mark Wilson of the Little Rock Field Office.

CREST serves as a means to exchange information between the FBI and the participating communities. Through this exchange, criminal problems affecting communities will be identified and addressed.
