Volunteer ASU Council urges Wear Pink' and plans Breast Cancer Awareness' Program, Tuesday, Oct. 9

The Volunteer ASU Council is encouraging everyone on campus to wear pink on Tuesday, Oct. 9, to help raise awareness for Breast Cancer. The student volunteers will host a Breast Cancer Awareness Program that evening in Centennial Hall of the Carl R. Reng Student Union.

JONESBORO –The Volunteer ASU Council is encouraging everyone on campus to wear pink on Tuesday, Oct. 9, to help raise awareness for Breast Cancer.

The student volunteers will host a Breast Cancer Awareness Program that evening in Centennial Hall of the Carl R. Reng Student Union.

Dr. Jenell Wade-Smith from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Area Health Education Center (AHEC) Northeast, will be the featured speaker for the program, which begins at 6 p.m. An ASU student who graduated last May also has been invited to share her story about her battle with breast cancer.

Vendors will set up prior to the program, beginning at 5:30 p.m. All students, faculty, and staff are invited to attend.

The Volunteer ASU council is a team of students who work together to provide the ASU community a place to serve, learn, and make a stAtement by partnering with local nonprofits and promoting social justice.
