Career Resources
Arkansas State University and the College of Veterinary Medicine can connect you with valuable resources to assist you in launching your veterinary career.
Job Boards
The “Becoming a Veterinary Professional” series within our curriculum will expose our students to the multitude of career opportunities and advanced training opportunities available. A CVM graduate may practice clinical veterinary medicine once they 1) successfully pass the North American Veterinary License Exam (NAVLE®) and 2) obtain a state license.
The following job boards may be helpful to our DVM graduates:
- Handshake, the official A-State Career Development and Engagement website for job postings.
- American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) Career Center
- Arkansas Veterinary Medical Association Job Board
If you are an employer who would like to post a job advertisement for our A-State students on Handshake, please contact Career Development and Engagement.
Veterinary Internship and Residency Matching Program (VIRMP)

Most internships and residents are filled through the Veterinary Internship and Residency Matching Program (VIRMP). The American Association of Veterinary Clinicians sponsors this service and is commonly referred to as “the match”.
The following internship and residency training opportunities may be helpful to our current students and graduates:
- Veterinary Internship and Residency Matching Program (VIRMP)
- Clinical Partner Internship and Residency Opportunities
- More information will be available in the future
Arkansas State University and the College of Veterinary Medicine offer opportunities for current DVM students and graduates who desire to pursue a post-baccalaureate program.
