About Dr. Rajesh Sharma
Dr. Rajesh Sharma is the Director of the Engineering Technology Program and an Associate Professor of Renewable Energy Technology in the College of Engineering and Computer Science at Arkansas State University. Dr. Sharma spearheaded the inaugural ATMAE accreditation process for the Engineering Technology program in 2024. He is also actively involved in workforce development initiatives through the Career Readiness Education & Skills Training Center (CREST). He is the recipient of the 2025 A-State Faculty Excellence Award for Professional Service.
Dr. Sharma’s interdisciplinary research spans renewable energy, nanotechnology, and surface engineering. His major research contributions include photoelectrochemical hydrogen production, plasma surface modification, and advanced catalyst systems. His research has been funded by agencies such as NASA, the U.S. Department of Energy, and the National Science Foundation. Dr. Sharma has published over 80 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters and has presented his findings at more than 50 national and international conferences, frequently serving as an invited keynote speaker and session chair.
Dr. Sharma is a Senior Member of the IEEE and served as President of the IEEE Industry Applications Society Electrostatic Processes Committee. He also sits on the editorial board of IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications.
