A-State to Host Leadership Excellence Conference this Month

JONESBORO – This month, the Center for Leadership Excellence (CLE) will host the Leadership Excellence Conference. The conference will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 29, and will celebrate a significant milestone.  
 
“This event is inspiring to all. We are proud to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Center for Leadership Excellence this year,” said Dr. Patricia Quinn Johnston, executive director of CLE. 
 
The event will be held in Centennial Hall of Reng Student Union, with check-in starting at 8:30 a.m. The opening session will begin at 9:30 a.m. Johnston said the event is free to attend and will include lunch. 
 
“People of all ages from our community and beyond are invited to attend,” added Johnston. “All who are interested in leadership, growth, community and learning will benefit from this experience.”

The keynote speaker is Marcy Doderer, president and chief executive officer at Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH).  Doderer is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.  In her more than a decade at ACH, she has transformed the hospital into a leading pediatric healthcare system.  

She said they are excited to host this conference.

“The conference theme is ‘A Decade of Impact: Sustaining Connection in a Changing World.’”

This event is typically held in the spring, but Johnston said they are switching things up this year and hosting the event this fall.

“We want to build a leadership community and create meaningful connections among all who participate in our events,” Johnston added. “This theme of connection resonates with us because connection is so important for our health, well-being, and success.”
