HPMEC to Host Day Camp in June, Celebrating America's 250th Anniversary

JONESBORO – To commemorate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States,
the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center (HPMEC) will host a day camp
on Friday, June 19, in Piggott.
“Painting the American Story” will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for those ages
13 to 17.
“Campers will tour the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and the Matilda and Karl Pfeiffer
Museum. They will learn to paint on canvas, creating their own America 250-themed
masterpiece to take home,” said Shannon Williams, director of HPMEC.
The event fee is $145, and all materials and supplies will be provided. Snacks and
lunch for the day will be provided through a sponsorship. Williams said that Arkansas
Education Freedom Account funds may also be used.
HPMEC is located at 1913 Museum Row in Piggott.
To register or for any questions, one may email Williams at shwilliams@AState.edu.
