About Addie Fleming
Ms. Fleming’s nursing education began with the completion of a Bachelor’s degree in
nursing (BSN) in 2013 from Arkansas State University. While a student at A-State,
she was very involved with the Student Nurses’ Association. She served as a local
and state officer. She was also the Lead Peer Instructor in the Clinical Learning
Lab. This is where she first developed her passion for teaching. After graduation,
she worked in the critical care setting, primarily caring for cardiac patients. While
she enjoyed bedside nursing, she knew that teaching was ultimately what she wanted
to do. While pursuing her Master’s degree, she came on as full-time faculty at Arkansas
State University in the fall of 2016 as a clinical instructor. She received her Master
of Nursing Science degree with an emphasis in Nursing Administration and Nursing Education
from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 2017. Ms. Fleming began her
position as an Assistant Professor of Nursing in the fall of 2017. She received tenure
in 2024 and was promoted to Associate Professor of Nursing. In August 2024, she was
appointed as the interim BSN Chair, with full appointment in January 2025. She oversees
the Traditional BSN, Second-Degree Accelerated BSN, and RN-BSN program options.
